Our History
Little School was founded in 1959 as a kindergarten, and has been associated with First Presbyterian Church since that time. In 2003 Little School became a member of the American Christian Schools International. The director, teachers, and other staff have all benefited from the conferences, resources, and support provided by ACSI. You can read more about our history in the Kokomo Tribune
Our Mission
The mission of First Presbyterian Little School is to provide children with a Christ-centered atmosphere in which they can experience a variety of learning opportunities. We encourage young children to explore, ask questions, to be creative, and to make choices and decisions. Our Curriculum is based on learning through developmentally appropriate activities with emphasis on spiritual, social, physical, and cognitive growth. Little School strives to provide opportunities for a variety of children in our community, including those from low income families, single parent families, and children with special needs.
Our Goals
First Presbyterian Little School seeks to help young children grow and learn in a positive Christian atmosphere. To accomplish this we focus on the following:
  • Knowing God as Creator and friend
  • Getting to know oneself and encouraging a positive self-concept
  • Discovering the world around us
  • Learning to get along and cooperate with others
  • Growing spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively
